At last!

It's been SO difficult to keep a secret for the past few months! but finally it's out -- a brand new Embellisher with my endorsement surrounded by my samples! This was the "proof" and I couldn't wait to share with you! Keep tuned, there is more excitement to come within the next couple of months . . .

Cottages

Cottages have always fascinated me - especially "thatched" cottages. The very image conjures up happiness and serenity. I imagine a little family going about their routine and enjoying their tranquil surroundings. These are two versions of my "fairytale" impression of what an ideal life could be in such a cozy place surrounded by nature's beauty.

One of the first pieces created with my new Embellisher several years ago was an English thatched cottage and I've been modifying them ever since. These two are wool complete with tiny windows and thatched roofs - the snow cottage has a an sparkling icy roof that overhangs every so slightly. It's very difficult to photograph as they are so small. The photos just don't show the stitched detail or the textures (including the velvet tree) very well - they are both Artist Postcard size (4x6) and were lots of fun to think about and create.

Excuses!

It's amazing that so many busy people find time to "blog" daily and still have time to create such such beautiful works.

What have I been up to lately? Well, last week we visiting the Outer Banks of NC - "Duck" to be exact. It has become an annual family tradition that we look forward to and relish each year. This year was just a little different, we had no cable television and only intermittent wireless access, so there wasn't much to do except relax, talk, eat, sit on the beach (for me under an umbrella) and read! Luckily enough for me, I read "The Other Bolenyn Sister" which turned out to be a fabulous suprise -- it kept me intrigued for the whole week. In fact when we returned, I went right to the bookstore and purchased "The Boleyn Inheritence" which picks up where the last left off! so . . more of a good thing as the characters are easily recognized.

I've played "catch-up" since returning including filling an order for Her Majesty's Confections - never a chore as I never tire of handling beautiful colors and textures and take great pride and joy in ensuring that each package is filled with a variety of colors and fibers -- an expecially nice selection to share with you after my purchases at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival a few weeks ago! (wool, silk, locks). When needle felting it's nice to have a small variety of colors/fibers on hand -- by purchasing a fiber pack, you don't have to spend the time researching reliable sources (I've done all the work for you) or storing more than you need. In case you are interested, these are available from Nancy's Notions - online as well as from time to time in the retail catalog. I do sell these wholesale with a minimum of 10 packs - contact me if you need more information (hermajestymargo@aol.com).
